My new business card...thanks to my hubby who scanned it in for me...thanks thanks and thanks...please pass it to anyone who wants to contact me for appointments...cheers
Well it doesn't seem like a business card, but rather a flyer. First of all, a balloon artist is an entertainer, and not someone selling balloons...unless of course you're twisting outside on the street.
My concept is that I'm a magician with balooons. That is, it's facinating to watch me make something from almost nothing. I'm selling the entertainment of watching me creat. Then of course, you get to keep it.
I'm good at everything excapt birthdays, like at a children's bookstore grand opening for example.
I like to make several large sculptures of cartoon characters for display, then I do the twisting. A toocan on a swing (two balloons) and so on. I talk with the kids and parents. Sometimes if I have a very small crowd, I'll have the person for whom I'm making the figure for help me as my assistant. I make a show of it.
I charge an hourly fee, and slightly more if I have to travel a distance. Depending on the event, I use one bag an hour, or I figure sixty balloons an hour...depending on the event.
Of course you want to have business cards!!! But don't waste them. Don't hand them out to every tom, dick, and harry. If someone asks you, then give them a card. However though, if someone looks like a potential custermer...give them a card.
During the holidays, you may consider placing a display ad in a local business magazine. It doesn't have to be expensive.
Your business card shouldn't seem like you're bagging to get hired. Here's an example: Delightful, Fun, and Amazing Balloon Sculpting Entertainment LIEN PHAM BALLOON ARTIST 000-000-0000 festivals-conventions-promotions grand openings-restaurants-birthdays and more
